Dog friendly things to do in Phillip Island when its cold and wet

When its cold and wet on holidays you can still have fun at Phillip Island. Even with dogs. Put plenty of layers on and get in the car with your dogs and explore the area.

Travelling with dogs in general doesn’t have to be restrictive. National Parks in Phillip Island do not allow dogs, however we get around this by keeping the dogs in the car and taking it in turns to get out of the car for a brief time to take photos and take in the surroundings. There is plenty to see by driving along the coastal road between the Nobbies and Penguin parade.

There are some on lead dog friendly beaches with restrictions – you can check out the information centre to find the closest beach to you.

A stroll with your dogs along the main strip in Cowes

Along the main strip of Cowes there are cafe’s and restaurants – some have tables and chairs in the street which is perfect for sitting with your dogs.

San Remo

Put the dogs in the carย  and go for a drive to San Remo. Fish co-op, see the pelicans, go to a bakery and sit outside and have a hot coffee, or snack

Knobbies

Put the dogs in the car and drive to the Knobbies, then along the coast to where the penguin parade is held. There are lookouts along the side of the road where you can stop, get out of the car and have a look. We often take it in turns to get out, or just look from the car.
